STAYING FAITHFUL TO YOUR SPOUSE Pt.1

April 20, 2016 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Hebrews13:4 Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery. NLT

Long time ago, I use to think this verse was addressing the singles but when I studied it critically, I discovered that a single doesn't have a marriage bed yet so it must be a direct admonition to the married. Our generation is an adulterous generation, marriage didn't stop sexual immorality for some men&women but rather they became smarter.

Adultery adulterates those involved in it. If you are married, you must do your best to abstain from this deadly sin. Devil has sent out his agents to destroy homes and cause God's children to stumble. There are a few things to do to stay faithful:

(1) Renew your mind daily with God's word(Rom12:1-2)

(2)Don't be too intimate with the opposite sex except your wife. Intimacy&flirting is the beginning of a rough journey into adultery.

(3) Exercise self control in matters like looking, eating&relating with the opposite sex. Break all forms of unholy contact.

(4)Satisfy your partner sexually without

Wit holding yourself.

(5) Decide to be faithful to your spouse

(5)Pray!Pray!!Pray!!!

The list is by no means exhaustive but I believe the Holy Spirit shall help us as we keep walking with God daily.

Action point

Father, I receive grace to stay faithful to my Spouse In Jesus name. Amen
