2Tim1:5 I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. NLT
Timothy was a young Pastor ordained by Paul to be in-charge of one of the the churches that he planted. Timothy had a very strong spiritual root because his mother(Eunice) and grandmother( Lois) were devoted to the Lord and they passed on a strong spiritual legacy to him.
Some may take the verse above to mean that If a father is a Pastor then his sons and daughters must be Pastors and must even take over the church he founded as the practice is today, that is not the import of what Paul was writing here. Paul simply was emphasising on the strong spiritual and Christian upbringing Timothy had.
When we train our children in the way of the Lord right from cradle, they may not end up as Pastors or preachers but they'll be unique in whatever they do because the wisdom of God would dwell in them. Training our children in the way of the Lord is not negotiable and we must be alive to our responsibilities so that we can raise a breed without greed. Our society is what it is because of failed parenting. The devil knows that if the place of training in the family isn't solid, the nation would fail.
Father, I receive grace not to fail in parenting In Jesus name. Amen
