Judges 16:28 "Then Samson prayed to the LORD, “Sovereign LORD, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time. With one blow let me pay back the Philistines for the loss of my two eyes”(Judges16:28)
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT SAMSON?
Most times, when we are preached to about Samson, what comes to mind is the life and times of a great man that performed supernatural exploits but was brought down by a whorish woman. Isn't it? Yes, that's what comes to the mind of majority when preaching or talking about Samson. However, there is something about the story of Samson that we fail to emphasize. Though he had a bad life in the midlle but there's something that gives hope in his story. Though he was wounded as a soldier but he was restored and he became victorious at last.
Not many preachers would agree with me on this but the Samson I read about in my bible was restored: "Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven"(Judges 16:22 KJV). The hair on his head was symbolic of his Nazirite consecration. After the enemy dealt with him in his backslidden state, he was able to find the place of consecration. As long as you're still alive, I'm glad to tell you that God can restore you if you return to your first love. Jesus told the Church in Ephesus to return to the first love. That's the place of consecration.
After Samson returned to God in repentance and consecration, we were told that he prayed for strength as we see in the opening text. God granted his request: "And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the Lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life"(Judges 16:30 KJV). If you can do what Samson did, God will restore you and make you fulfill your purpose in him. He repented and consecrated himself. Your hair can grow again.
Father, restore me to the place of fellowship with you and to the path of righteousness In Jesus name.
