FOR HIS POWER TO BE SEEN

May 02, 2020 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

John9:3 “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. NLT

Jesus and his disciples saw a man that was born blind from birth. His disciples asked if his blindness was as a result of his sin or that of his parents. That question is expected from those that have been raised with the theology of divine retribution. The disciples were raised under a legalistic system where it was believed that such challenges may be as a result of sins. Do not forget that the friends of job alluded the cause of his ordeal to sin. If you're like the disciples of Jesus in that regard, you need to change.

I love the response of Jesus to their question. He said, "It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him" ( John9:3 ). Hallelujah! There are things that happen so that God's power might be displayed just like the case of that man that was born blind. God didn't create him with that deformity because everything God created was good(Gen1:31). Surely, his blindness was the work of the enemy(Matthew 13:28), albeit God knew about it. His healing gave glory to God not his blindness.

Do not allow the enemy sell a lie to you that your present challenge(s) is because of your sins. God permitted it so that his power might be displayed through it. Glory! God saw the Israelites on their way to the red sea. Pharaoh was behind and the red sea was ahead. It looked like God allowed them to be pushed to a dead end. Suddenly, the word that parted the red sea came and they walked on dry ground. You maybe sandwiched between Pharaoh and the red sea, the doctor's report may have fed you with hopelessness. Relax! All that is happening is so that God's power might be displayed. Hallelujah! I see you testifying soon.

Action point

Father, use my challenge( ...mention the name) to display your power and give me an earthshaking testimony in the name of Jesus
