Proverbs24:16 For a righteous man may fall seven times
And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.
I got my first post secondary education admission as a teenager. That was the first time i lived alone. When I was going to my new residence, my parents gave me food stuff and other things i needed to start a new life. The first time I cooked concoction rice was a disaster. I was used to cooking rice separately and taking stew from another pot back home. In my new abode, I had tin tomato and I thought it would work the magic on my rice. After my rice was done, I applied the tin tomato paste like you would spread butter on bread while the rice was on fire. I covered the pot hoping the rice would change colour automatically.
After a short while, the rice began to burn. I poured a little water and covered for some minutes. The next thing I saw was that the cover of my pot was opening. When I opened the pot to check my rice, the tomato paste moved to a side of the pot. The rice I thought would have changed colour remained white. It was a joke of a rice. A friend walked by, he was a good cook. He remedied the situation and we ate together but the taste was bad. He pointed my errors to me and that was the first and last time I made that mistake. I want to encourage you not to be afraid of making mistakes as long as you're ready to learn from it.
Learning from your Mistakes is what John C.Maxwell called"Failing Forward". You can fail and move forward after your failure and you can remain on the same spot. Both outcomes are functions of your attitude. If you do not know how to learn from life's mistakes, you may repeat the same mistake often. Also, if you're afraid of making mistakes, you may remain on the same spot throughout life. Successful men aren't men that haven't failed in their endeavour but they are men who learnt from failure to achieve their dreams. That idea God has placed on your heart, take the step of faith and try it out. Do not allow the fear of failure hold you down, don't fail before you start.
Father, I bind the fear of failure and I enter into the fulfilment of all that you have in store for me by taking practical steps in Jesus name.
