TEST OF FAITHFULNESS
In every school, there is a system of promotion. Before any student can be promoted to the next class, there are certain criteria that must be met. Prayer alone does not suffice for promotion, there are binding principles behind it. In the kingdom, there are principles behind divine promotion. Faithfulness is constant devotion or commitment to something or someone. When God wanted to replace Saul, he found David faithful and qualified for the throne despite being a teenager tending sheep in the wilderness. Unknown to him, he was under God's test of faithfulness.
Saul on the other hand failed woefully in the palace and God said in 1 Samuel 13:14, But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD's command". When Jesse paraded his sons before Samuel, God declared that he had rejected them. I wondered where and when they were tested for Kingship. They didn't know that God was shopping for a king and he was conducting the test for a course titled: "Faithfulness 101". Just as it is in the academics so it is in spiritual things. Promotion may appear to be sudden but the price of faithfulness was paid secretly. Stop seeking for sudden promotion rather seek to pay the price of divine promotion.
In the real sense, no promotion is sudden, it is the product of a process. If fasting and prayer is enough, many would be swimming in their next level. In that little thing God has committed into your hands, stay faithful. As a minister, you may not experience promotion if you're not faithful with that little congregation, little finance and your devotion to the Lord. You may be writing a test of faithfulness in business as a business man. You cannot experience abundance or promotion until you pass the test of faithfulness. Jesus said, "If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities. Don't envy those that God has committed great things into their hands, you may not know when they passed their test.
Father, I receive grace not to fail the test of faithfulness in Jesus name
