LOYALTY ATTRACTS

*Proverbs 19:22 *Loyalty makes a person attractive. It is better to be poor than dishonest*. NLT

Recently, I was privileged to visit a popular electronics market to make some purchases on behalf of the ministry. While in the shop with one of the vendors, a young man walked in. From his conversation with the vendor, I observed he was the sound engineer of his church. I did not listen to the details of his conversation with the vendor but the man briefed me about the whole thing after he left.

The vendor told me that the sound engineer came to collect a kickback from him for the purchase of equipment made by his pastor. Previously, his pastor has been sending him to buy technical equipment for the church but he became suspicious of him so he decided to buy the equipment for the church by himself. This sound engineer traced the purchase to the vendor to demand a kickback.

The vendor told me that If he refuses to give him the money, he may go back to church and spoil the device. Then, he would tell his pastor a fake product was sold to him. The church may not patronize him again. So, he acceded to the sound engineer's request to protect his business. I left his shop a sad man that day.

For his pastor to suspect him to the point of not trusting him enough to commit purchases into his hands shows that he has seen some signs of disloyalty in his life. From afar, disloyalty can be perceived even when you do not have a concrete evidence to point at.

As a leader, the moment you sense a disconnect with someone even when there is no reason to, be sensitive from that moment and follow the leading you have in your spirit as regards your relationship with that person. One disloyal person in your team can ruin much good.

One of the fruits of disloyalty to a leader's vision is theft, stealing by trick, lies and graft. If you are working under someone either in the church or outside a church organization, just know that you are disloyal and unfaithful.

There is a curse that comes with unfaithfulness in financial matters especially when you have been entrusted with important things. Going behind your boss to re negotiate a deal or keeping back leftover monies for yourself is not smartness, ask Gehazi.

As an associate working under a leadership structure that demands remittances, let your remittance be accurate. Stop falsifying figures. Don't remove some portion of the income before declaring it. You may think you are smart but Satan is wrecking your life gradually.

If you know you won't be able to abide by the conditions given in that organization or you perceive the organizational policies will make you disloyal, do not accept to work there even if it is a church organization. Some church leaders are missing it here.

Action Point:

If you mean to build something great in life, something that will stand the test of time, build it on loyalty and faithfulness.
