Severally, I have shared my experience during COVID lockdown. The lockdown came suddenly and no one knew how it would look like. I never knew that disruption of daily activities could paralyse the flow of money and resources.
The onset of that period was tough. The Lord led me to give out a substantial part of the little that was left on me and I sold my book to raise money for believers who needed palliative that season yet I was in need.
After I gave God my obedience, my case was like that widow of Zarephath who did not go hungry throughout the famine. God is faithful when it comes to miraculous provision. I am a living testimony. I have lost count on the miraculous supplies I have received from God on numerous occasion.
The opening text is the reality of the godly. The man who is walking with the Lord and has made him number one in his life will not go hungry. Psalm 34:10 says, "Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing"(NLT).
However, the godly must learn to obey simple instructions that will trigger the flow of unusual supply. Often, I observed that divine supply comes after a season of obedience. When God is set to launch the godly into a continuous flow, he gives an instruction requiring full obedience.
If the widow of Zarephath had not listened to Elijah's plea and instruction for provision, she and her son may have died of hunger. Thank God she obeyed. Sometimes, God demand obedience from us to test our hearts. He wants to know the true alignment of our hearts.
