TURNING YOUR PAIN INTO PURPOSE - Pt.7

October 04, 2026 · Lanre Oyeleke · 7 views

> Romans 8:28 NLT - _"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose."_

When our first two children came, I did not really understand the pain of childbirth. Not because I was far away, but because the circumstances did not allow me to be fully involved.

For our first child, my wife was on bed rest for days before delivery. On that day, I was only outside the hospital ward, pacing up and down, waiting for someone to come and tell me, "Oga, your wife don deliver." For the second child, she even went to the hospital by herself to deliver.

But our third child was a different story. God allowed me to see it live.We were all at home that evening, just enjoying family time with our two boys. Then my wife said, "My body is paining me." I thought it was one of those normal body pains.

But this one was not normal. Within minutes, tears began to flow from her eyes. Real tears. At that moment, I knew her time had come. There was confusion in the house. We quickly packed her bag. No car, so we rushed outside to look for keke. We finally got one. I carried the bag, held our two boys, and we entered.

Inside that keke, an old man looked at my wife. He saw the way she was crying. As an elderly man, he understood immediately. He did not preach. He simply started praying for her right there in the keke. And when we got to the bus stop, he did something I will never forget — he paid our transport fare.

To cut the long story short, we got to the hospital and God helped her. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Today, when I look at that girl running around our house, I remember: that pain of that evening was not unto death, it was unto joy.

That is how God works. The pain of yesterday is what births the testimony of today.

*A wound bleeds. A womb births*.

Some of you are like my wife right now. You are pregnant with purpose, with a vision, with a calling, but the pregnancy is painful. The business idea is heavy. The ministry God showed you looks impossible. The marriage you are trying to build is stressful. You feel like giving up.

God is saying to you this morning: Don't abort it. Push! That disappointment did not come to kill you, it came to stretch you. That delay did not come to bury you, it came to build you.

Your wound is now your womb. What wounded you will now birth something through you.

Reflect on these:
1. What wound have you been crying about that God wants to use as a womb?
2. Have you allowed bitterness to make you want to abort what God planted in you?

Stop explaining your pain. Start birthing your purpose.

Action point

Father, thank You because my pain is not wasted. Today, I surrender every wound to You. Turn my wounds into wombs. Give me grace to push and not abort. Let something that will bless my generation come out of my pain. In Jesus' name, Amen.
