PORNOGRAPHY Pt.2

September 11, 2026 · Lanre Oyeleke · 7 views

1 Corinthians 6:18 *"Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body*".

IT DISTORTS ONE'S VIEW OF SEX

Sex is good. There is nothing wrong with having sex as long as it is within the confines of marriage. Sex with one's spouse is a blessing and gift from God.

God's original plan for mankind is that a man and woman will marry and have sex with each other only not with another person outside the marriage covenant.

Proverbs 5:16 says, *"Why spill the water of your springs in the streets, having sex with just anyone*"? (NLT)

Sex outside marriage (either before or to another person aside one's spouse) is not God's will. It is not an exercise for singles to engage in.

Sex seals the marriage covenant between two people. Sex binds them together. It is beyond an emotional activity. God created the sexual passion as a seal of the marriage covenant.

Malachi 2:14 says, *"You ask, 'Why?' It is because the Lord is the witness between you and the wife of your youth. You have been unfaithful to her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant*".

However, pornography pervert the original plan of God for sex. One of the damages pornography does to the mind is that it distorts the right perspective one should have about sex. It makes its victims see sex as something that can be done with anyone.

Pornography makes its victims see sex as a sport. Something that requires performance without commitment. Some see sex as a casual activity. This mindset is a major factor that has made sex cheap in our world today.

Pornography makes its victims see the opposite sex as a sex object. I once heard a guy make a dirty remark about the sex style that fits for a sister's shape. He saw that child of God as a sex object so all he could think about was how he would have sex with her using a particular style. Some men masturbate with such pictures in mind. That is what pornography does to the mind.

If it is a female under the weight of porn, she may begin to size up a man's penis even while he is dressed up and will imagine wild fantasies with him. A replay of all she watched in porn will flood her mind.

The cure for this distortion is to renew your mind daily with God's word and stop watching porn. You cannot be watching porn and still be studying the bible at the same. Pollutant and cleaner cannot mix. You must allow the divine cleansing agent only into your mind.

Psalms 119:9 says, *"Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word*"(KJV).

Everything about sexual immorality starts from the mind. Pornography attacks the mind but God's word re programmes the mind for purity. Expose your mind to it. Allow the word of God to take precedence in your life.

Romans 12:2 says (NIV): *"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will*".

Let's pray the prayer of the psalmist in Psalm 119:32.
