*WHAT IS THE LORD SAYING ABOUT YOU*?

2 Corinthians 10:18 So let’s be clear. To have the Lord’s approval and commendation is of greater value than bragging about oneself. TPT

In the book of revelation, there was a church who commended herself: "You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!..."( Rev 3:17 NLT). This was their own commendation about themselves. They took pride in their achievements and made it public.

In that same verse, hear what the Lord said about them: "...And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked" ( Rev 3:17 NLT).

It is paradoxical that the church who claimed to be rich in monetary terms was regarded as poor and wretched by the Lord. Obviously, their metrics of assesment was physical and material but God used another metric of measurement to evaluate them.

This shows that how God sees us might be different from how we see ourselves or what people are saying about us. In a world of media hype and hype men, we must be careful about taking glory in personal achievements while neglecting the assesment of heaven.

Those who live for God's assesment or commendation do not seek after the commendation of men. The events in heaven will shock many. Those we think are high up there, praised by men and commended by all might get a different score card from God.

Those who live with eternity in-view understand these things and they live for an audience of one which is God.

Action Point:

Father, I receive the grace to live for God's commendation only in Jesus name.
