Every human on earth is essentially a spirit with a soul and body (1Thes 5:23). All humans on earth know how to buiild their bodies through proper diet and physical exercises. We build our soul (seat of intellect) through education, either formal or informal. This is done by believers and unbelievers.
However, only a few are building a strong spirit. Many eat three square meal a day to build their bodies, they go to school and acquire certifications to sharpen their minds so as to be relevant in the labour market but their spirits are starving yet
they wonder why they are not getting clarity on life issues.
To hear from God clearly, you must train your spirit to be strong& sensitive to pick signals from heaven. Some carry around a dull spirit that can't pick heavenly signals because their spirits are not trained. How can you train your spirit?
Proverbs 4:20-21 says, "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart"
You train your spirit with the word of God. That training involves paying attention to the word and doing what it says. It entails allowing the word to dwell richly in your spirit. You need word content in your spirit in quantity and quality.
Colossians 3:16 says, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord".
What food is to your body is what the word of God is to your spirit. As you infuse the word into your spirit, your spirit becomes stronger, sensitive and sharper. Don't neglect your spirit at the expense of your soul&body.
When God's written word is in your spirit, you will discern his spoken word.
