One day, I was discussing with a man who sells building materials. He pointed a house to me that was built by a guy who was into internet fraud. The young guy built it quickly and spent so much on the building to the admiration and surprise of those around him.
From our conversation, I saw that this man was fascinated by unjust wealth and its gains. I told him I cannot involve in such because I love my peace and I will not do what will take sleep from my eyes. Also, I told him there are consequences for such actions.
The next thing he said was, "You will sanctify such money" (paraphrase). He implied that If I get money unjustly, all I need do is to sanctify it. I told him such monies don't get sanctified because God doesn't convert wrong to right through sanctification.
Rather, God cleanses and purges. That was not the first time I heard such. I was in another lecture where a law enforcement officer said If he had the opportunity to make big money with his profession, he would do it and then build a big church where he'll be asking God for forgiveness daily. He said when God is tired of his daily cries, he will forgive him.
Dearest, God will never sanctify nor accept monies made unjustly even If you lay it on the altar. If the most anointed man of God in the world blesses it, be sure God won't bless it neither will he accept such offerings. The church may accept it but God won't.
Deuteronomy 23:18 says, "When you are bringing an offering to fulfill a vow, you must not bring to the house of the Lord your God any offering from the earnings of a prostitute, whether a man or a woman, for both are detestable to the Lord your God" (NLT)
Though the scripture above specifically mentioned that God will reject the offerings from the earnings of prostitution, I am sure he will reject the offerings from the earnings of internet fraud, stealing and other dubious means.
This kind of message is not popular on pulpits today because some churches are afraid to lose income from certain quarters. I know a church largely built by a "yahoo" boy. The truth must be told without fear and shame. The offering plate cannot be polluted and we'll expect revival. Purity in the offering plate is important too.
The offering of Cain was rejected because his relationship with God had issues( Gen 4). God values purity more than gifts. Whatever you bring to the church cannot bribe him. He is not hungry for offerings at the detriment of a pure life.
Don't steal in your office and lay down the proceed on the altar. The altar does not sanctify offerings. A sanctified life gives sanctifies offerings.
In your drive to contribute to kingdom advancement, proceeds from theft, fraud, prostitution and lies will not advance the kingdom. It will corrupt such advancement.
