Gal2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. NLT
I was teaching in a bible study meeting recently and I asked if there was anyone in the congregation that can fulfil the whole law (613 in total), nobody gave an emphatic yes. Believers need to understand this issue of trying to use the law as a means to attaining righteousness. The law doesn't make anyone righteous.
Apostle Paul made it clear that trying to attain the righteousness of Christ through the law is tantamount to frustrating God's grace. It is another way of saying you can use the law to attain salvation. If it is so, then our salvation is by works but not by grace any longer but Ephesians2:8-9 made it that our salvation is by grace through faith not by works(of the law).
Religion seeks to use means to reachout to God but Christianity is God reaching out to man because of his mercy and love. You cannot pay for grace, you cannot earn grace through works; the more you try to live up to the demands of the law, the more you'll fail. Accept the grace of Christ the way it is and do not try to add or remove from it. This would help you against condemnation and guilt.
Father, thank you for your grace that came through Christ. Thank you for my salvation, I wouldn't have been able to pay for it but Christ paid it all for me on the cross. Hallelluyah!
