Jer23:36 But stop using this phrase, ‘prophecy from the LORD.’ For people are using it to give authority to their own ideas, turning upside down the words of our God, the living God, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.
I have seen believers who can hardly make a statement without saying 'God said', some have taken it to the extreme such that you'll think they can't even think on their own. In my opinion, most of these people are trying to give authority to their opinion and using God's name to validate it, that's wrong. Even Apostle Paul in some places specified when he gave his own counsel and not by the Spirit.
In Jeremiah 23, God warned against people using his name to lie and using 'Thus saith the Lord' to give authority to their ideas. It is better to say this opinion is my idea rather than saying 'God said' and incurring the curse of God upon your life. Those who prophesy or give a message in the name of God when God has not spoken are cursed.
Stop giving authority to your idea by lying on God. In my few years of walk with God, He doesn't speak on every occasion and every time as some opined because he gave us a sanctified mind that we can use to make certain decisions. When people want their own idea to prevail, they manipulate others using God's name, that's witch craft. Don't be shy to say this is my idea or opinion rather than using God's name to validate what God didn't say.
Father, I receive grace to be sensitive to your Spirit In Jesus name.
