Isaiah58:1 “Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast. Shout aloud! Don’t be timid. Tell my people Israel of their sins! (2) Yet they act so pious! They come to the Temple every day and seem delighted to learn all about me. They act like a righteous nation that would never abandon the laws of its God. They ask me to take action on their behalf, pretending they want to be near me. NLT
In the words that God told prophet Isaiah, God seems to have x-rayed the heart of many worshipers that came to him hence He told Isaiah that many of them were pious in looks and in act in the church, they shout in excitement, give with enthusiasm, help the Pastor run errands and do all sort of things yet they are pretending.
It baffles me that some of the evils and ungodly acts we see in the offices, government agencies and in private establishments are perpetuated by so call 'believers'. Some are very pious on sundays, they may speak in tongues and even prophecy, singing in the choir may even be what they love to do yet, they are pretending.
God weighs the state of our heart more than those activities in which we engage in. Those that have come to know God have ended their deal with pretense, they worship in Spirit and truth, they come to God's presence because of love not for what they can get from him. Let your life be straightforward and let your walk with God be a daily walk not a sunday walk.
Father, I receive the grace for a daily walk with you In Jesus name. Amen
