Jer2:2 “Go and shout this message to Jerusalem. This is what the LORD says:
“I remember how eager you were to please me as a young bride long ago,
how you loved me and followed me
even through the barren wilderness. NLT
Remember how you were vibrant for the Lord when you newly gave your life to Christ. Remember how prayerful you were and how you devour God's word with maximum concentration when you were a new convert. Remember how you were so in tune with God and how your sensitivity was very sharp to God's voice. If you have forgotten, I want you to remember those days.
God called the nation of Israel to remember their dedication and passion for Him even when things weren't rosy for them. We all have the tendency to become too familiar with God and the things of God to the extent that we draw back a little until we become cold. The worst description of a believer that I've seen is when people say 'when he was on fire'. If you are luke warm, it is good you remember those days now.
After remembrance comes repentance and revival. God told one of the churches in the book of revelation to remember where he had fallen from and repent. Repent from that lukewarmness and trust God for spiritual revival by the Spirit. Don't be counted out of what God is doing this season, believers whose walk with God is in the past won't be relevant in the scheme of things in this generation.
Father, I receive the grace to remember, repent and be revived In Jesus name. Amen
