SETTING SPIRITUAL LAWS IN MOTION Pt.3
Joshua 21:43 Thus the Lord gave to Israel all the Land which he swore to give to their fathers; and having taken possession of it they settled there. And the Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their fathers; not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the Lord had given all their enemies into their hands. Not one of all the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.
THE LAW OF CORRESPONDING ACTION
Do you remember the story of the twelve spies? They were the men Moses sent to spy the land God promised. Ten gave a very bad report. They were faithless and discouraged. They saw giants they couldn't defeat and saw themselves as grasshoppers. Their report made almost everyone in their camp to shiver for fear. In fact, they desired Egypt again because they felt Moses wanted to waste their lives in the wilderness. Only Caleb and Joshua gave a different report. The bible says, "Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it". Hallelujah!!! Caleb and Joshua set in motion the spiritual law that led to their conquest. The other guys who activated a negative spiritual law died only Caleb and Joshua made it to the promised land. Now, there's something I want us to learn from this. After Joshua and Caleb spoke faith filled words, they didn't sit down waiting for angels to come do battle for them. They took a corresponding action that was in line with their faith. And what was it they did? They fought: "When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it. They completely destroyed everything in it with their swords—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep, goats, and donkeys"(Joshua 6:20-21 NLT). Joshua and the Israelites wouldn't have taken the land if they hadn't fought. No matter the good report or faith they had, fighting was required to make their faith a reality.
Another example is David when he faced Goliath. Both of them exchanged words. David spoke glowingly about the God of Israel and he expressed his faith in God. Hey! He didn't stop there. The bible says, "As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him. Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down on the ground"(1 Samuel 17:48-49 NLT). Did you read that patiently? David didn't wait for Goliath to strike him first before taking action. The bible says he ran towards him and hurled his sling at him. That was how he conquered. Your faith will amount to nothing when it is not backed by corresponding action. We have many who know so much about the first two laws and they do them but they always fail in this third law. Some persons who are trusting God for a better life and has confessy it several times are lazy not ready to lift a finger to make their confessions come to pass. There are many praying people but a few action takers. If you're not not ready to take action, faith is not needed. We exercise our faith by taking the right action. If you confess health, live healthy and do the things healthy people do. Don't eat carelessly. The power of God is needed for divine healing but it takes wisdom to live in divine health. That wisdom is shown through the actions you take on daily basis.
Sam O. Salau says, Profound Positive Confessions that lacks Profound Serious Actions will leave you in a Profound Pitiable State on the day that matters most to your destiny!. Men that build their castles in the air through positive confessions are not worth companying with. If you say God has called you into the ministry and has made great promises to you, that great promise God made will amount to nothing if you don't take the right action. You must wake up in the morning to pray, study well and set out to your office to do things that will make those promises a reality. Stop sleeping and eating all day. Ministry work is real work. It is hard work. God will do nothing for men who are not ready to do anything. He is not a magician. He's expecting you to take corresponding action. When Jesus healed in the bible, he always gave instructions to the healed to take action. For example to an invalid man, you'll hear words like "Take up your mat". If the invalid didn't make attempt to take up his mat, he'll remain like that. Faith works when backed by corresponding action. Words are cheap, righteous action is the real deal. Bring to reality God's promises by taking the right action.
Father, I receive the grace to take the right action backing my faith in Jesus name.
