WHY I BELIEVE JESUS IS GOD Pt.3

This subject is very interesting. It is a truth revealed by God to His children in the pages of scriptures and confirmed in our hearts by the Spirit of God. Trying to analyse this logically or mentally will always lead to confusion. As I said previously, those that do not believe in the inspiration of the bible will have a hard time accepting this truth. If you believe the bible is God's inspired word, you shouldn't have a hard time believing what it says. God's word says Jesus is God and I believe it. That settles it. In the Bible, one of the major commandments in the decalogue is, "Thou shalt have( worship) no other gods before me"( Ex.20:3 KJV, emphasis mine). Here, God doesn't want us to worship another god. He alone deserves worship. In the book of Revelation(22:8-9), an angel rejected worship because angels are not to be worshipped except God: "I, John, am the one who heard and saw all these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me. But he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this book. WORSHIP ONLY GOD!”

However, I discovered that Jesus accepted worship. Yes, He accepted worship. Why? Because He is God. Let's consider a few scriptures: "They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and THEY BOWED DOWN AND WORSHIPPED HIM. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh"( Mt. 2:11 NLT). Right from when He was a baby, he began to receive worship. If you say He was a baby whou couldn't have rejected worship, what about other times in His adulthood where he was worshiped and didn't reject it or forbid the people from worshipping him? In Matthew 14:33, THEN THE DISCIPLES WORSHIPED HIM. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed." Hallelujah!!! His disciples worshipped Him and even some women did after His resurrection: "And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and WORSHIPED HIM"(Matthew 28:9 NLT). In the same chapter( Vs 16-17), the disciples worshiped him again: "Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted!" If you say the first worship was a mistake, is the second one a mistake too?

Do not forget that in all of these, Jesus didn't reject worship neither did he rebuke those who did because He is God who is deserving of worship. The angel in Luke 19:10 rejected worship because only God should be worshiped: "Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith in Jesus. WORSHIP ONLY GOD. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus". In Luke 24:52, after His ascension, the bible says, "So they worshiped him and then returned to Jerusalem filled with great joy"( Luke 24:52 NLT). By revelation, they( disciples) knew Jesus is God and that's why they kept on giving Him worship. I will show you another person who wasn't among the twelve, yet it is recorded in the Bible that he worshiped Jesus. In John 9:38, we were told about a man that was born blind. After he received his miracle, he gave Jesus worship after acknowledging Him as the Son of God: “Yes, Lord, I believe!” the man said. And he worshiped Jesus." These are sufficient proofs to show that Jesus is deity. Accepting this truth will deepen our walk with God and help us to serve Him better. This truth will make you realize why salvation how precious our salvation is because holy God became man to die for sinful men so that they might be made holy and righteous. Let me hear you say, "Jesus is God."
