DISTINCT ROLES OF THE GODHEAD(B)
No member of the holy Trinity is without a vital role. The bible is clear on this. When the angel appeared to Joseph in the dream, he declared that salvation from sin is an exclusive role of Christ: "And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins"(Mt 1:21 NLT). Salvation cannot be gotten from any religious leader or angel. The only person that offer eternal salvation is Christ: "There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved”( Acts 4:12 NLT). Religion is man's way of trying to reach God. Man invented rituals and rites as a way to reach the Father but Christ is the only way of getting to the Father: "Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me"(John 14:6 NLT). Hallelujah!!! Christ is the way to salvation, the way to heaven, there's no other way.
What if I told you Christ also played a vital role in creation? Yes, he did. God the father created everything through Him: "God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him"( John 1:3 NLT). Jesus is the agent or channel of creation because through Him, all things were made by God: "But for us, There is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live"(1 Cor 8:6 NLT). Christ was actively involved in creation because He is deity. Only God can create. The bible says, "for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together"(Col 1:16-17 NLT). Glory!!!
These are salient truths revealed in scriptures about Christ. He is not only a saviour, He was also involved in creation and still is. Christ is also involved in revelation. He came to reveal the father to us: “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him”(Mt 11:27 NLT). If you want to know God the father, look at Jesus. If you want to grasp the extent of God's love, look at Jesus. What God the father wouldn't do, Jesus didn't do. He is the perfect representation of God. Study Jesus in the Gospels to understand the Father perfectly. That's why the writer of Hebrews enjoined that we look up to Jesus: "looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God"(Heb 12:2 KJV). Your walk with God cannot be perfected until you behold Christ in the word of God. Stay close to your bible to learn Christ.
CONFESSION: I receive the revelation of Christ by the word and the Spirit. My faith is strengthened and firmly rooted in Christ and I grow in the faith of the Son in Jesus name.
