SETTING SPIRITUAL LAWS IN MOTION Pt.2

Mark 11:23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. NLT

THE LAW OF FAITH

When I was in secondary school, there was this big sister in our neighbourhood whom we talk often. She was years ahead of me in everything. If we were to be in thesame school, I would call her "Senior xxx" as the custom was when addressing senior students. One day, during our conversation, she said her belief is that a student must spend minimum of two years at home before gaining admission into the university. Her belief was that entering higher institution immediately after secondary education was a misnomer. Eventually, I entered the university and was progressing steadily. This lady struggled to gain admission for years. She didn't gain admission until my third year in the university. Academically, she was sound but her delay in getting admission was due to her wrong mindset and beliefs. Eventually, when she got admission, I remembered what she said. It occurred to me that her belief played out in her life. She set in motion her delay with her belief.

You can set in motion what will happen in your life through what you believe in your heart. In life, it is "Be it unto you according to your faith". Your good confessions will make no difference if it doesn't align with what you believe in your heart. Word based confessions plus anti bible beliefs will yield no good result. The way it works is word based confession + right believing = Good result. You must radically work on what goes on inside of you. Many people say "It is well" when in their hearts, they're saying "Life is bad". The content of your heart determines the happenings in your life. Apostle Paul says, "For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved"(Romans 10:10 NLT). Though he was talking in context of salvation here but we can see that what we believe in our hearts is crucial. *If salvation is dependent on what we believe in our hearts, then other happenings in our lives will largely depend on what we believe. No magic about it. Those who believe one cannot be wealthy without cheating or cutting corners will always find a way to steal, cheat or cut corners. Their lives always gravitate towards their beliefs.

What do you believe? Consciously, you must work on the content of your heart using the word of God. Let the word of penetrate your heart and let it be firmly rooted such that when negative thoughts come, it will meet with a stiff resistance. Negative thoughts will always come, but you have a duty not to allow it gain root in your heart. The moment it becomes rooted in your heart, it becomes a belief system. Dwell on God's word enough, meditate on it and speak it always till it becomes a part of you. When the devil comes with negative thoughts, don't keep silent, talk back and keep saying what you believe in the written word of God until it is rooted in your heart. Paul says, "Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness"(Col 2:7 NLT). This great apostle further said, "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;..."(Colossians 3:16). When God's word is rooted in your heart, your confessions will automatically produce result. What you say and what you believe must align. They matter to God.

CONFESSION: The word of God is changing me. I am transformed daily and walking in the light of who God says I am. My heart is open to the word, it is gaining root right now. I will never live a defeated life in Jesus name.
