WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO Pt.3
1Sam30:6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God.
FIND/CREATE A FAITH BOOSTING ATMOSPHERE
After we received the call that we won't be flying to Nigeria because of our result, we put a call through to the mother of the young man with me informing her about change in plans and the cause of our delay. Her words changed our atmosphere and the little faith that we were building crashed. For about thirty minutes, the whole house became hot and on fire. Though the situation wasn't as bad as she painted it. At that time, we were still in high spirits save the medical report. The fire of hopelessness, faithlessness, and despair burned in that atmosphere after that conversation. When our host heard the conversation and saw all that happened, he said, "I don't like this kind of atmosphere around my house". Immediately, i understood what he was trying to say. He was our coach and faith support system that period. The next thing we did was to pray and worship God. Immediately, the hope that we lost was restored.
There's another thing you must do when you find yourself in a situation where you don't know what to do. Find a faith boosting atmosphere not an atmosphere that kills your faith. If you can't find that atmosphere, create it by yourself. Sometimes, we are products of our atmosphere. We soak into our spiritual system the juice that flows in our atmosphere. When the twelve spies returned, ten of them gave a fearful report about the land. What they saw were giants. Immediately, the fear and hopelessness spread throughout the camp of Israel. That news changed the atmosphere and the people drank the juice of fear in that atmosphere: "So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: “The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge"(Numbers 13:32 NLT). Caleb understood this principle of creating the right atmosphere and they decided to change the narrative by "infecting" the atmosphere with the spirit of faith: "But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!”(Numbers 13:30 NLT).
In moments when you don't know what to, avoid toxic atmosphere and people who will hinder the flow of faith into your spiritual blood stream. Don't fellowship with clueless people in your situation. Whatever flows in your atmosphere is powerful and it can get into you. If you can't create that atmosphere yourself, you need support systems that will help you out in this. The enemy's trap in time of trouble is to look for a way to snuff out the little that remains in your faith and weaken your inner strength totally. If he can keep you down in your mind and place you in an atmosphere of faithlessness, you will never be receptive to divine intervention. When you don't know what to do, create an atmosphere of faith. That's the way out.
CONFESSION: I refuse to soak in the toxicity in my atmosphere. I receive a fresh baptism of the spirit of faith. I will never remain down one more day. I refuse to be clueless and rudderless. I have a sound mind and will ever remain on top in Jesus name.
