James2:14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? NLT

TAKE THE RIGHT ACTION(S) WHILE WAITING

When my result came out negative and that of my companion remained positive, it came with mixed feelings. I wasn't too happy about his result even though I was thankful for mine. I wished it happened the other way so that he could return to Nigeria while I wait in Ghana for a negative result. He felt bad upon seeing his result because we both agreed in prayers before going for the test that came out negative for me. When we were talking, I pointed to him a few things I felt he didn't do well while waiting for a change. He had a lackadaisical attitude towards taking the natural spices and prescriptions recommended for boosting our immune system. I felt if he had taken it as i did, his recovery may be quicker because younger people are known to have quick recoveries because of their immune system. All through my stay, I took those things as a mini diet sort of but he felt since we've prayed, there wasn't any need for those things. He realized he didn't act well in that regard and he changed for the better. Kindly note that the source of our healing was God not the natural spices and prescriptions. However, he may choose to work through any means, that's purely his prerogative.

Jesus didn't need John's baptism to validate his ministry because he came directly from heaven as God in human flesh yet Jesus still submitted to John's baptism so that all righteousness might be fulfilled. There are actions you may need to take that may be crucial to your faith as long as they're not anti scriptures. There's a gross misunderstanding in the body of Christ that faith in God automatically translate to not taking appropriate actions. For example, I've heard about several people who lost their lives because they felt taking medication was anti faith. They just loathe anything that makes their faith look as though they're 'assisting' God. That wrong misrepresentation of faith has been for long and has led many into the grave untimely. Let's look at this scripture: "Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven",James 5:14-15 NLT. The word "anointing" in that text is "Aleipho" in the Greek. It implies medicinal oil. Apostle James recommended medicine for the sick but he didn't stop there. He said that what will heal the sick eventually is the prayer of faith not the medicinal oil. However, the use of medicine is the appropriate action to be taken in instances where it is inevitable or required.

In our walk of faith, there's a God-ward side and Man-ward side to making our faith work. Don't try to act on a level of faith you've not built or attained. The testimony of faith you heard from that brother or sister is only reflective of his/ her level of faith personally. It is not a template for all. Faith is personal. You can build your faith to a point where taking certain actions like using of medications may be unnecessary but pending when you'll get there, take appropriate actions. It doesn't nullify your faith. God deals with us at our level of faith not the faith of another person because it has always been 'Be it nto you according to YOUR FAITH and so shall it be. Don't sit at home trusting God for a job without sending out applications and connecting with people who could be of assistance. Imagine waiting couples that aren't getting intimate regularly, how will they achieve conception? God can do everything because he's omnipotent but he has chosen not to do all things because he didn't create a robot who can't take initiative. There are so many answers to prayers and faith confessions still hanging because the owner hasn't taken appropriate action. Do a review of your life and look out for areas where you've not taken the right action. You may be one right action away from your desired miracle.

Action point

Father, open my eyes to the appropriate actions I need to take for my faith to produce the desired result in Jesus name.
