INGREDIENTS OF FAITH Pt.1

THE WORD

Over the years, I've heard faith preached, taught and expounded from scriptures. Some persons take faith to mean mere absolute trust in God on an issue but without a basis. What some folks call 'faith' has failed them and they're discouraged. The reason for this is because they fail to realize that when we put our faith in God for result, certain spiritual ingredients must be included in our faith for it to work. You can grind pepper in the market but until you cook it with the necessary ingredients, it won't be edible.

One vital ingredient of result producing faith is the word of God. Whenever you claim to have faith, it must rest on a particular verse(s) of scriptures that promise you what you desire. In Jeremiah 1:11-12, "The word of the Lord came to me: “What do you see, Jeremiah?” “I see the branch of an almond tree,” I replied. The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled”. Jeremiah 1:11-12 NIV. God's commitment is to his word not your wish. The bible says, "Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar...", Romans3:4. God's integrity is tied to his word. He doesn't want men to call him a liar.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it, Isaiah 55:11. Whenever we come to him in prayers and present his word to him, he is bound to fulfill it in our lives. Faith won't work until we add the ingredient of relevant scriptures that promise us what we desire from God and stand on it. Any faith that is not resting on specific scriptures that promises our desire is just a mere wish. God doesn't respond to wishes but faith backed by his word.
