INGREDIENTS OF FAITH Pt.6

PATIENT WAITING

While we were waiting for a negative covid test result, God taught us patience. After praying and ensuring our faith was intact, we got confirmation that all would be well through one of my mentors and my companion's mentor in Nigeria. Despite all the confirmations, we tested positive still. At a time, my companion felt bad and confused but I knew that it takes patience to walk with God. The absence of result doesn't mean God has reneged on his promises. My result came out negative first. I left my companion in Ghana and i returned to Nigeria on October 29th, 2021. Though it was a risky decision but we needed to take that decision to cut cost. Finally, he joined me in Nigeria on November 11th after testing negative. The timeline between when we prayed and got confirmations that all would be well was a bit far from the time of manifestation.

God is not a magician. We always want things done instantly. Our era has witnessed fast food, speed train, supersonic airplanes and fast internet speed. Humans want quick result. Impatience seems to be a common gene we all possess. We tend to bring God into the sense realm where we want things done quickly but we fail to realize that God doesn't boycott process. God can make a waiting mother get pregnant in one day, mature the foetus and make her deliver her baby immediately. His power is unlimited yet God wouldn't do such because there's a divinely appointed time for gestation. No amount of prayer and fasting can make a woman give birth in less than nine months except a she want a pre term. I listened to the testimony of a woman who waited on God for the fruit of the womb. She told us how she prayed for several years. On a certain day, God told her he has heard her prayers. After that confirmation from God, she waited for several years before giving birth to her first child.

The faith that wins is a patient faith. Abraham waited for 25 solid years before obtaining the promise. Noah had faith that rain would fall but he waited patiently for 120 years. Everyone must have called him a fool. The dream of Joseph didn't come to pass until after 13 years of patient waiting. These men made the faith's hall of fame as faith heroes. You'll make a mess of your faith and prayers if you don't know how to wait patiently. Beware of those who make faith look like God's instant miracle tool. There's no doubt that in some cases, certain miracles happen instantly and that's God's prerogative not ours. Lack of evidence or manifestation doesn't necessarily mean the absence of faith. The man under God's processing may look faithless when result hasn't come. Wait for your time, be patient with God, he is working out something behind the scene.
