INTENSE PRAYER

We need to understand the nature of certain predictive prophecies so that we can be properly guided. In the book of Genesis15:13, God told Abram that his descendants will spend 400 years in captivity. I want to believe this is specific enough. However, in Ex12:40-41, it was stated that their sojourn in Egypt took 430 years. Why this disparity? Has God turned a liar? Of course not. I know there are a lot of theological opinions as regards this but I choose to think differently about it.

Not all prophecies would be fulfilled automatically. Some are conditioned on certain things that God expect man to do. The prophetic prediction that declared 400 years was validly from God but it was conditioned on their willingness to pray their nation out of slavery. Failure to raise a cry for help on time probably prolonged their stay in Egypt for another extra 30 years. "And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage", Ex2:23 KJV. God knew they were suffering but he couldn't do anything about it until they cried to him. If they had expressed satisfaction with slavery, God wouldn't be able to help them despite the prophecy of freedom that has been prophesied. Sometimes, God is handicapped because man failed to pray out his plans and purposes.

There are certain prophecies that require your prayer input before they come to pass. You may have received a word from God( with several confirmations) that is yet to be fulfilled. That doesn't mean God is not powerful enough to make good his word but you may be failing to play your part in the place of prayer in making that prophecy come to pass. We can lay hold of unseen realities by faith in the place of prayer and birth the fulfilment of prophecy. Some of us think the moment God speaks, all we need do is to go to bed and sleep whereas in most cases, it is a call to intense prayer warfare. There are oppositions against the fulfilment of prophecies, you'll only conquer them and enter into the fulfilment of those prophecies if you pray intensely.
