WORD-BASED CONFESSION
During our encounter with the deadly corona virus when I traveled to Ghana for mission work, I engaged the power of word-based confession. I went with a young man whose mum told me his friend insinuated he may not return home because he told them he sensed he may not return home. Immediately I heard that, I knew I had to step up my faith game. Psalms121:8 became my confession: "The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore". Faith won't work until you confess God's word that you believe.
I told the devil that the blessedness of going out is in returning home so I refused evil imaginations, thoughts and revelations. At a time, my companion's condition grew worse and I heard a voice saying, "There's a battle in the heavenlies". Thank God the host of heaven won the battle over the onslaught of the enemy. However, word-based confession was in my mouth. There's a difference between positive confession and word-based confession. The former exist in the mental realm and even unbelievers engage it but the later is spiritual and it involves speaking the word of God as found in the bible and enforcing it on life's ugly situations till a change occurs.
Even motivational speakers encourage people to speak positively. While it is good to do so, it doesn't carry much power as when you confess God's word. What you say in times of tests and trials will determine your outcome. Your life will go in the direction of your mouth. If you say you're dead and done for, so it is. Ten out of the twelve spies saw giants and failure and they were consumed by the enemy but Caleb and Joshua who confessed victory entered into the promise land. God may not be able to do beyond what you say about your life: "So tell them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord , I WILL DO TO YOU THE VERY THING I HEARD YOU SAY:", Numbers14:28. What are you saying?
CONFESSION: I am the head and not beneath. I'm not struggling to get by, I'm not a hustler, I'm blessed. My going out and coming in is blessed. The desire of my enemy shall not come to pass over my life in Jesus name. I am triumphant.
N:B We shall be on the mission field next week. Pray for souls to be won and partner with us. Shalom
