I have observed little children and some of their wrong unlearned behaviours. For example, when babies are angry, some of them bite their mothers while breastfeeding. Then I ask, who taught them revenge or how to express anger? Sometimes, children lie without being taught. It shows that sin is innate and inherent in man not because we were taught. I don't think any of us went to school of sin but we found ourselves doing it. The bible says, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God",Romans 3:23 NIV. Sin separated man from God, we inherited spiritual death( eternal separation from God) and we fell short of God's glory. This is the sorry state of man without Jesus.
All of human race inherited sin from Adam and we found ourselves in a sorry state because God's glory departed and death became our inheritance: "For the wages of sin is death,..." Romans 6:23 NIV. The death implied here is not physical death but a spiritual one which is eternal separation from God. God in his mercy didn't leave man in that sorry state. He sent his son in the likeness of a man to die for your sins so that you can inherit eternal life: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life", John 3:16 NIV. Hallelujah!!!
The man that refuse to accept Jesus Christ stand condemned already: "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son",John 3:18 NIV. You can escape this condemnation by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour. The bible says, "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved", Romans 10:9-10 NIV. To exit this sorry state, make the confession below:
Jesus, come into my heart. I know I'm a sinner. I've been born once but I want rebirth so that I won't die twice. Forgive me of my sins and wash me with your precious blood. I confess you as my Lord and personal saviour. Write my name in the book of life and accept me in Jesus name. Amen
