1 Tim1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; KJV
THE FORCE OF HARDWORK
Two friends visited the fortuneteller to check their star. One was told that he was destined to be poor and miserable in life. The second man was told he'll be wealthy and famous. When they left the fortuneteller, the first man was bitterly sad while the second man went home rejoicing. In fact, when he got home, he threw a party and he began to celebrate his future fortunes with friends and families. He married more wives telling them how wealthy he'll become in the future. He stopped working thinking wealth will fall from heaven. The first man decided to relocate to another town. When he got there, he bought cutlasses and hoes for farming. He decided that he'll work on the farm until his fortune changes. Years later, the man that was told would become rich became poor and beggarly while the first man had become a rich farmer in the next town. He ended up feeding and helping his friend who was told would become rich. That's the power of hard work. Proverbs 14:23 says, "All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty", NIV.
Some have great prophecies hanging over them. Some brethren are so loud about what God told them but we're not seeing anything around them that points to the fulfillment of what God has said. Some even have special names and aliases that depicts the prophecy that went ahead of them. You may hear names like " covenant child" and so on. Failure to work hard may put you on the same spot like a man who never had a glorious future. The prophecies that went ahead of Jesus Christ were numerous. If Christ were to be like some of us, he wouldn't lift a finger and he'll just say 'Que' Sera sera', whatever will be will be. In John 5:17, Jesus said, "...My Father is always working, and so am I". He applied himself to the principle of hardwork despite the numerous prophecies that went ahead of him. If he hadn't worked as expected of him, he may not fulfill those Messianic prophecies. Apostle Paul was the greatest among all the apostles in the new testament judging from his ministry coverage, and depth of revelations in his epistolary writings. He was a scholar and devoted apostle yet he didn't achieve his prophetic mandate without applying the force of hardwork. In 1Corinthians 15:10, he said, "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me". He took advantage of grace to work hard not to sleep all night and play all day.
Que sera sera is the language of lazy and visionless folks. You have a part to play in what will be. You don't surrender your glorious future to the forces on earth driving the lives and destinies of men off track. Some prophecies don't just happen, they're worked out diligently. If God has told you that you'll be a global preacher, labour in the place of prayer and study. Improve daily on your preaching skill, take courses and trainings that will enhance your prophetic future. Don't be idle. The idea that God gives glory to the lazy is anti bible. That's a common belief in my part of the world yet I haven't seen a lazy man who amounted to anything meaningful. You need to build capacity to be able to handle your prophetic destiny. Even if the prophecy comes to pass automatically and its fulfillment meets you unprepared, you'll make a mess of the whole thing. Hard work doesn't destroy, it only refines and helps us to build capacity required to handle greatness.
Father, I receive the grace to work hard in Jesus name.
