DISCIPLESHIP TOOLS- MODELING
When a fashion designer want to introduce a new fashion design to the fashion loving community, they get models that would wear the cloth and show case it to the people. From there, they'll produce a fashion magazine where people can select styles from. What we see people wearing today was modeled by someone first. Thesame principle applies in discipleship. Disciplers must be model of Christ-likeness to the disciples.
The new generation lost it because those that ought to be models are modeling the wrong thing. Have you noticed that campus Pastors/ presidents have become demi gods in some of our campus fellowships? Some have mini escort and P.A., they boss over people and lord it over them coupled with high handedness, sexual immorality and financial wrecklessness. These i have seen. What we see them doing was copied from some 'fathers' in the faith. The fathers that ought to be models of Christian leadership are modeling the wrong thing.
The politics we see in campus fellowships today during choice of new executives didn't start on campus. It was copied from the fathers who turned the church to a political ground. We must not fail to realize that the next generation is watching us closely. My son imitates me in almost everything including my prayer language. As a discipler, your action speak louder than your words. After Paul had taught deep secrets, he resorted into telling his listeners to imitate him as he imitated Christ. As a discipler( Parent, Pastor, School teacher, etc), can your disciples imitate you? Can you declare boldly that your life should be imitated?
The aspect of your life that you don't want to reproduce in others, prayerfully ask the God to help you deal with it and cooperate with him.
