Phil3:17 Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example.
Sometimes i see my children imitating me especially my first son. There was a time i noticed that he began to speak in tongues while praying. I was shocked to hear him mumble some words in tongues. I discovered that he had heard me prayed in tongues severally and he thought that was something he could do not knowing that the Holy Spirit is involved. However, i learnt a vital leadership lesson there. Someone is watching to imitate me whether good or bad.
True leaders models the right character and attitude. A true leader won't be ashamed to tell people to model their lives after him because leaders are meant to exemplify whatever they preach or teach. It is only bad leaders that say 'do what i say but do not do what i do'. As a leader, your action carries more weight than your words. Apostle Paul was a model leader, he was confident to tell the Phillipians to imitate him. He had no skeleton in his cupboard.
When we preach about being a model leader, most people think we are restricting it to the church setting alone but do not forget that as a father, you are the leader in the home and you must live by example. Your children would end up doing what they've seen you do not only what you say. Mothers are leaders too. Your children are watching, your daughter have tendencies to run her future home like yours. Living by example is worth more than 10,000 sermons and instructions.
Father, i receive the grace to be a model leader In Jesus name
