DIRECTION DIMENSION TO SPIRITUAL WARFARE

July 13, 2019 · Lanre Oyeleke · 3 views

Matthew2:13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” NIV

When Jesus was born, his life was under threat because of Herod's evil decree. An angel of God instructed his foster father in a dream to escape with the baby and mother to Egypt. He gave further instruction that they should not exit until he received another instruction. In your mind, you may be wondering why the omnipotent God would tell Joseph to run away with baby Jesus because of Herod. Could it be that God couldn't protect Jesus( the Son of God) from Herod? Of course not.

God could have killed Herod and his soldiers in a millisecond but He chose not to do that. Rather, he gave instruction that they should escape. I love Joseph, he didn't fast and pray neither did he go to the mountain. He simply obeyed. Where most believers failed in their quest for victory over life's battles is that they failed to hear God on the way out of their battles while some that heard God felt the direction they received from God doesn't make sense. The only tool of spiritual warfare some people know is mountain fasting&prayer whereas listening to God for direction and obeying Him could deliver them from so much troubles.

In warfare, the direction of the commanding officer is more important than guns&bombs. It is possible to die in fasting&prayer while problem persist. Some have foolishly fallen into the hands of the devil because they didn't seek God for direction. Dearest, when God speak to you on the way out of your life's battles, your fasting&prayer is inconsequential. Divine direction is a potent warfare strategy that helps in winning the battles of life. Start asking God for the way out.
