WHAT TO DO IF YOU'RE CONFUSED . Part 3

Proverbs11:14 Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. NKJV

THE PLACE OF GODLY COUNSEL

Confusion is not the will of God for you and me. Paul said, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."(2Tim1:7). Sound mind is the will of God for His children. The devil brings confusion to our minds to make us stray from God's will, and to push us into making irrational decisions. For that reason, it is not wise to make decisions in a confused state. Making hasty decisions that are not in line with godly counsel in times of confusion may lead us into error that may not be corrected easily. Decisions are best made when the mind is calm and after adequate information has been gathered.

The place of godly counsel should not be jettisoned in times of confusion. You may be surprised that someone has passed through a similar challenge before. Sometimes, God speaks through people. That is why we need to surround ourselves with those that are spiritual and wise. We should not be like Rehoboam who despised the wise counsel of elders. Moses was overworked with the numerous people in his congregation in need of counsel and mediations. The counsel that solved that problem came through Jethro, the priest of Midian. Moses was spiritual in every sense of the word in his own dispensation- he spoke to God as though he was talking to his fellow human, he saw the back side of God- yet he did not have the requisite administrative knowledge on delegation of duty.

Do not be proud to seek counsel. Stop acting as though all is well when all is not well in reality. If you're confused about certain things in your ministry, marriage, business and academics, prayerfully ask God to lead you to someone who has the wisdom that will dispel your confusion. I'm yet to meet a man that is all-knowing and all-sufficient. Only the Godhead operates in that dimensions. I've had to seek counsel prayerfully and it paid off. However, seeking for counsel must be done with caution. Don't surround yourself with vain men, surround yourself with men who have answers.

Action point

Father, I receive the grace to seek godly counsel when necessary in Jesus name
