GIFT AND GREEDY GAIN
In the life of Joseph, I saw another virtue worthy of emulation. He was gifted and not greedy for gain. He didn't place a price tag on God's gift upon his life. When given an opportunity to interpret dreams, he said, “Interpreting dreams is God’s business,” Joseph replied. “Go ahead and tell me your dreams”(Gen40:8). He did not say, "fill form with my secretary and pay consultation fee". He didn't enter into an unholy agreement neither did he come up with a sharing formula. The bane of some gifted people today is that they have monetized the gift of God*.
No man can get to the height of his destiny by merchandising God's gift. Mercantile spirit places a limitation on how far you can go with God. The temptation to place monetary demand on God's gift will come. A time may come when you'll prepare adequately for a program but the honorarium will be little. In fact, at other times, you may not be given. Those are the kinds of meetings where great miracles happen and you may be tempted to put a price tag on God's gift when called upon another time.
Dearest, those things are tests. God want to see your heart,your reaction and disposition at that time. If you start price tagging God's gift upon your life at this level, you have just failed the promotion exam to a deeper dimension of the anointing. God is looking for men he can entrust with real power and strange dimensions of the Spirit. Joseph didn't fail in this regard, please do not fail.
Father, I receive the grace not to fail you in Jesus name.
