TRAPPED BY STRANGE WOMEN

June 04, 2020 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

1Kings 11:1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites; KJV

I studied the life of Solomon closely and I discovered that in all his wisdom, he fell into the hands of strange women. At the beginning of his reign, he was very close to God and he loved the Lord with all his heart. This is the testimony about Solomon at the beginning of his reign: "And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places"(1Kings3:3). Fast forward to chapter 11 of the same book, we were told that he loved many strange women. Because of that choice he made, the bible said, "For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father".(1Kings11:4). Solomon became an idol worshipper because of wrong alliance.

Who were the strange women that he loved? According to the Mosaic law, God commanded the Israelites not to marry from other nations principally because those nations were not in covenant with Yahweh. They were pagan nations. The Jews were the custodian of God's law. Automatically, ladies from nations aside Israel were deemed to be 'strange' because they had no relationship with God. 1Kings11:2 captured it properly, "Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love". King Solomon fell in love but with the wrong women because God instructed the Jews against marrying from those nations.

Brethren in Christ, marriage between a believer and an unbeliever is not permitted in God's kingdom. She may act nicely and may be caring but if she is not born again, do not think about marrying her. The same applies to sisters, do not try to convert an unbeliever for the purpose of marriage. He may pretend to love you and follow you to church not because he is saved but because he wants to marry you. Let the Holy Spirit do the work of conversion, you are not the converter. A man can do anything to get a woman but the sacrifice may end after marriage. There are demonic agents seeking to destroy the precious destinies of singles. You have a great destiny in God and you cannot afford to thwart God's plan for your life because of a strange man or woman. God designed marriage to enhance the fulfillment of his purpose in your life not to destroy it. Marrying someone that is not in covenant with God through redemption is a threat to the fulfillment of your destiny. Beware!!!
