1 Kings21:7 And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite. KJV
I watched a Christian movie sometime ago. A lady pretended to be born again and devoted to the Lord because she wanted a husband. An undiscerning brother in the church proposed marriage to her and they married. It was after the marriage the brother saw the other side of this lady. She was a heavy smoker and was adulterous. She camouflaged successfully until she revealed her true colour. Though it was in a movie all that happened but such happens in reality.
Jezebel was introduced to us in 1 Kings 16:31. She was a daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians. She was a staunch worshipper of Baal. She married Ahab, the king of northern Israel. Historically, she brought the priest of Baal into Israel and established Baal worship by killing God's prophets(1Kings 18:4). Maybe Ahab would have lived longer and ruled wisely. She pitched Ahab against God and made him a puppet. She was also a bad adviser( 1Kings21:7-12). The spirit of Jezebel is at work today. You need discernment to identify it properly.
Dear brother, no matter how anointed you are, even if you are tongue talking and fire spitting, embracing a Jezebel signals the end of your glorious destiny. Jezebel may be active in church but her heart is not in the things of the Spirit. She may attend all meetings in the church of God but she doesn't have a relationship with the God of the church. Jezebel will trap you with immorality and turn you to a loaf of bread. Her goal is to turn your back against God because vanity is her stock-in-trade. Don't surrender the throne of your heart to Jezebel. You need to watch and pray at all times so that you don't fall into her trap.
Father, I receive the grace not to fall victim of Jezebelic trap in Jesus name.
