There was a time in my life I devoted my resources and time to reading and listening to motivational speakers. Not long after, I became a motivational speaker though for a short while. The core of my message was centred on success. Later, as I walked with God, I understood my calling and God's ways better. The unregenerated man can teach success motivation and drive his listeners to an emotional high. In all I taught then, my emphasis were on man-made methods and principles. Truly, certain principles are good and universal but there's a hidden secret about success that the carnal or unregenerated man doesn't have access to. I found the hidden secret of success in the life of King Uzziah. The bible said: "And as long as the king sought (divine) guidance from the Lord, God gave him success."
Divine direction/ guidance is the hidden secret of success most motivational speakers rarely teach. Nothing beats being able to hear God per time on issues. A man can try out principles and start a journey based on self effort, skill and knowledge yet amount to nothing. Solomon, the wisest man before Jesus said: "I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."(Eccl9:11). This is the futility of human pursuit without being led by God. The New Living Translation renders the last line: "but time and chance happeneth to them all" as "It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time." That's profound.
How can a man be in the right place at the right time if not for divine guidance? Being in the right place, at the right time doing the right thing( fulfilling God's purpose) is only possible when you're led by God. I'm in no way rubbishing hardwork and principles. After all, Solomon also encouraged hardwork and diligence in his proverbs. I'm only pointing your attention to a secret that is hidden. Uzziah succeeded because he rode on the wings of the hidden secret of success. You must learn to play the fool like a man who doesn't know the way but in need of direction so that God can show you the way. Those that approach God with a humble heart would always know the hidden secret to their success. If you're still bragging about your skill, your education and wisdom, you may remain on the same spot for long. Simple prayers like: "Lord, I don't know the way, show me the way" helps in unveiling hidden secrets to success provided it is coming from a sincere heart that truly wants to be led by God.
Father, show me the secret to my success in Jesus name.
