TWO MAJOR COMPETITORS- TELEVISION VS VISION
Another thing that competes with every God-given vision is television. In context, television refers to what you see others doing. Copying or imitating what others are doing when God has not sent you is a killer of vision. Every God-given vision is unique and special in its own right. There are specifications and details that stand every God-given vision out.
For those with ministry vision, no two ministry are exactly the same. There maybe similarities but they can never be the same. If you want your vision to speak, stop copying what you see others doing. I have seen churches that copy programmes and themes of other churches. Once they see a church doing a programme that pull crowd, they may start theirs too. The moment you focus on what others are doing instead of what you are sent to do, you will loose your originality. In fact, some copy names and add theirs to it making it a compound ministry name. That's out of place.
Your vision from God has a template and divine blue print. Spend time with God to find out from Him how you should go about it. Kenneth E. Hagin told the story of how He was led by God to start a prayer programme. He said that the pattern of the programme was simply to pray not another time of sharing the word or doing lengthy bible study. Others may add seminar to theirs to pull crowd but his was strictly a prayer meeting. If he had copied others, originality would be lost. Television may kill your vision, get the pattern and stay focused.
