POWER AND PURITY
There's so much cry for power among charismatic today. People go to prayer mountains in search of power. I heard a man saying that some were praying for power with eyes facing heaven under hot sun. In fact, recently I heard about a man that went to the wilderness to pray for power, he died fasting. A prominent man of God told a story on his twitter handle how he fasted for 11 days without food and water. He ended up stooling blood. That's how far people have gone in searching for power. I have fasted and collapsed sometimes ago. That's how hungry some of us are to operate in God's power.
Power to do what? To perform miracles, heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out devils. Power is good and we all need it. In fact, when Jesus was leaving the earth, He promised us the Holy Spirit who in turn will give us power to be witnesses,Acts1:8). Let's us compare the life of Jesus and Samson quickly There's something we did not always see about Jesus. In the messianic Psalm of chapter 45:7, talking about Jesus, it says: Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Read it carefully.
Jesus loved righteousness or purity and then God anointed Him. He combined a life of power with purity. On the other hand, Samson had a heavy-duty anointing but no purity. Before he met his Waterloo in the hands of Delilah, the signs of an impure life were there. The devil capitalized on that to damage him. It is possible to be anointed and yet still living in sin. I have seen this over and over. Don't tell me it is not true or maybe such anointing is not from God. The Bible told us the gift and calling of God are without repentance, Rom11:29. As you desire power, combine it with purity. Purity gives power value, purity makes power flow ceaselessly, purity strengthens the carrier of power.
father, I receive grace to live a life of purity and power In Jesus name.
