2 Kings5 :11 But Naaman went away angry and said, "I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. NIV
A single woman that was above 50 years of age met a Prophet. She told him that she needed a husband. The prophet prayed for her but she asked for one more thing. The Prophet asked her what she wanted. She replied by saying that she wanted God to reverse her body function so that she can be younger because she was no longer menstruating. The prophet told her to go dip herself in the church baptistry. She obeyed and immediately, her menses returned. She got her miracle because of her obedience to instruction not necessarily because she entered the water. Nothing is special about that baptistry.
Sometimes, the reason why many believers have not received their desired miracle is because of disobedience to uncommon divine instructions. I perceive that the reason for this disobedience is because most people expect God to answer them or work a miracle in their lives through a particular method. Some have designed how they want their encounter to be but sometimes God didn't come that way. Captain Naaman was one of such people. He expected Prophet Elisha to do special gymnastics to cleanse his leprosy but he was shocked. He was instructed to go and bath in one of the dirtiest rivers in his day with an instruction to dip himself in that river seven times. He struggled with that instruction but he obeyed later. He got his healing primarily because of his obedience to that uncommon instruction.
I know you pray very well. Fasting has become a norm for you yet nothing is happening. You may need to check your heart to be sure you're not ignoring God's instructions. If prayer and fasting is enough, many believers would be swimming in endless streams of miracles. However, as good as fasting and prayer is, obedience has its role to play in receiving from God. In addition to that, if you box God to a corner and you predict how you want him to move, you may miss God. Great miracles happen when we obey simple instructions. The man that would operate and enjoy the supernatural must be ready to obey God fully.
