Luke2: 43 After the celebration was over, they started home to Nazareth, but Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem...(44)they assumed he was among the other travelers. But when he didn't show up that evening, they started looking for him among their relatives and friends.
When Jesus was twelve years of age, he travelled with his parents to Jerusalem for a celebration. When the feast was over, he stayed back in Jerusalem and his parents moved on without boy Jesus in their company. They forgot to take him along. They had gone for days before they discovered he wasn't with them. All along, they assumed he was with them.
How does that apply to us this year? It is possible to be carried away with the joy of entering a new year and still forget to journey in the year with Jesus. Many start the year with joy in their heart without Jesus. In the middle of the year, when they run into troubles, they would be seeking for Jesus then their eyes will open like Jesus' parents.
Do not let your story this year be like Jesus' parents. They forgot him totally. If you forget to journey with Jesus this year, you may likely run into trouble in the middle of the journey. Invite him into all the departments of your life and never give the devil any room. Travel the year with Jesus.
Dear Jesus, I invite you into the journey of this year. Journey with me, lead me and cause me to follow in your foot steps.
