Any time I read through the writings of Paul, it amazes me how a man would go through all those hardship and persecution with joy without reneging on his promise to serve the master and fulfil his purpose. To me, those persecutions fuelled his passion to conquer more grounds for the LORD. The purpose of that suffering was to make the life of Christ ooze out of him. Glory!
Paul was under constant danger of death because of his commitment to Christ. Can we say of you that you have suffered a little because of your stand in Christ? Are you not always looking for the easy way out to avoid being persecuted? Your christianity isn't solid yet until you face oppositions because of your faith.
Some Christians hide their identities as believers because they don't want people to tag them as 'SU'(a derogatory name used in Nigeria for uncompromising believers). I remember that some of my classmates do not like me because I don't cheat during exams, their remark about me on that was very unkind.
Until the world knows what you stand for, you cannot partake in the blessed sufferings of Christ which would make his life evident in you.
