A man was given a huge sum of money in cash, the money was so much that he had to hold on to it tightly. If anyone greets him on the way, the tighter he would keep the money to himself because he felt someone may be after him to collect the money. His heart was with the money and he could hardly shift his thoughts away from it.
That is also what happens to us. Whatever we place so much value on would attract our attention always and there would our desires be. Your desires are traceable to what you value or treasure most in your life. People invest so much in stocks such that they buy newspaper every daily to monitor what's their shares. That is where their heart is.
If you treasure spiritual things, your heart would be there. If you don't have a virile prayer life and word study culture, it shows your heart isn't there. Those that place a strong value on God and spiritual things would always desire more of him. I can tell what you value most in few hours of talking with you. Any Christian that has invested so much in the kingdom would desire heaven more than anything else. Where is your heart?
