WHEN IMITATION IS NOT LIMITATION

December 31, 2014 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Eph5:1- Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. NLT

There is a popular quote that says 'imitation is limitation'. That may be true to some extent but when we imitate who we ought to be like and conform to, we cannot be limited. Imitating a man can limit you but imitating God will surely exhalt you.

God wants us to imitate him, though we cannot see him but Christ has come to represent God to us. When we see Christ, we have seen what God is like. His loving and caring nature was perfectly exemplified. Also, the judgement side of God was demonstrated by Christ when he drove out those that were buying and selling in the temple with anger.

It is only a bastard that doesn't represent his father. In Africa, when a child misbehaves in such a way that has never been seen in his family, the elders may quickly assume he's bastard. When we don't act like God, we are not representing him well.

He wants us to imitate him constantly.

Action point
  • Father, I receive grace to be more like you In Jesus name. Amen
