Rom4:15- For the law always brings punishment on those who try to obey it. (The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break). NLT
When I read through some of the Mosaic laws, I noticed that the law was for strict
adherence and defaulters would be punished. One of the purpose of the law was to reveal sin and punish those that couldn't obey it. Those under the law were sin-conscious rather than Christ-conscious.
The comers under the law lived a religious and fearful life. Their relationship with God was a fear-based relationship not loved-based. They were always afraid of God wielding a big stick on them for their short-comings. Under grace, God decided to bring us closer to his son through his Spirit.
What the flesh couldn't do under the law, the Spirit of grace has made it possible and that is why Rom6:14 says sin shall not have dominion over us because we are under the grace. To overcome sin, simply relate with the Holy Spirit and do not live in the consciousness of sin. There's a very high tendency that you'll fall into what you're too conscious about.
CONFESSION: - Father, I thank you because the purpose of grace is to deepen my relationship with you not because you're seeking whom to punish. I receive grace to walk with you deeply In Jesus Name.
