There are certain teachings in the scripture that I try not to teach especially when it comes to the text above because it sometimes raises controversies but as long as it is a scriptural truth, I will preach it. Some feel preachers are meant to be poor and neglected. When I checked my bible, Jesus received adequate support from those that benefited from his ministry. Luke8:1-8
There are certain things God has ordered the flock to do to their shepherds and one of such is to provide for their needs. If a man of God is labouring on you spiritually in the word, counselling&prayers. You don't need to wait till he/she ask, just give him whatever God lays in your heart.
If a man's ministry is blessing you either through his books, tapes, blackberry broadcast,online ministrations, facebook post&twitter messages, you owe such a minister your substance. In my little time in ministry, I noticed that those who support preachers live a colourful life. It is not about how big the gift is but how cheerful the heart of the giver is.
Bless that minister today.
Decide what you want to give to that minister that has blessed your life. It doesn't necessarily need to be big, just do it&expect the blessing.
