2Cor5:21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. NLT
Our righteousness is a mystery unveiled in the scriptures. Isn't it wonderful to know that you are righteous without your works? Yes you are, it came as a precious gift from God at salvation but someone paid the price for you. To be candid, every free gift was paid for by someone because things aren't free in freetown.
Christ took your sinful place on the cross, all your sins were laid on him, he wasn't a good sight to behold and God abandoned him at that point in time on the cross. The sacrifice of Christ was a vicarious substitution and he remains the first vicar of the church.
He is the reason why you can come into God's presence without any feeling of guilt and shame. The lack of this understanding is the reason many believers still cry that God should make them righteous. That you failed God yesterday doesn't mean his righteousness is withdrawn, no. All you need do is to repent and move on.
- Father, thank you for your gift of righteosuness, I walk in the realities of the new creation In Jesus name.
