MAKE YOUR GIVING COUNT

December 27, 2014 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

2Cor8:12 Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don't have. NLT

I have been in several programmes where a minister used coercion to make people give. If truly God blesses in return when we give, then we have an assurance that such a blessing would come if the giving is done the bible way.

Anything you give grudgingly does not have God's blessing. It is not a crime if you don't give or if it doesn't come from your heart. Though, when you don't give, you may be delaying a blessing or breakthrough but the underlying principle is that let your heart be attune to what your hand is doing.

If you have been a victim of coercion, make conscious effort to avoid being under pressure. If you find yourself in an occasion where people are making big donations and you know you haven't agreed in your heart on what to give, don't stand up to make empty promise. Simply tell your host that you will see what you can do later when you've checked your heart.

Stop giving to impress people. Let your heart release what is in your hand. That's the best way to make your giving count.

Action point
  • Father, I receive grace to give from my heart and not because of pressure In Jesus Name.
