Matthew1:21 And she will have a son, and you to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. NLT
When Jesus came into the world, the Jews were under the rulership of the Romans. Those days, any country with a stronger military might can forcefully dominate the other and make their subjects pay tribute and taxes to them. The Jews were groaning and they longed to have the freedom they've long desired.
When Jesus came on the scene, they expected Jesus to liberate them from from their colonial master but rather he was preaching the goodnews of the kingdom so that men might be saved. The purpose for which he came occupied his heart and that was what he began to do. Jesus came to save the lost by laying down his life for the sinners.
Our God is a God of purpose. He doesn't do a thing without a definite purpose in his heart. God is not a man that makes emotional decisions. God calculates very well and he is a thorough planner. It would be a waste if you celebrate Christmas without Christ in your life. He was born for the purpose of salvation not for men to eat and drink at the celebration of his birth.
Celebrating Christmas without Christ in your life is an empty celebration.
Father, I accept the Lordship of your son into my life. I confess him as my Lord and saviour In Jesus name.
Season's Greetings
