Luke1:11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
When God called Pastor E.A. Adeboye into full time ministry, he was a senior lecturer at University of Ilorin. God showed him a graph-like vision where he saw curves. One curve showed that if he obey the call, he would move from the bottom to the top without coming down while the other curve showed how his life would be if he disobeys.
There is a place of sacrifice in our walk with God. Following God is not bread and butter especially when uncommon obedience is demanded from us. I have seen people that make jest or ridicule people that have obeyed the call of God into full time ministry. Some may say 'who sent them'? If being in ministry full time is the sacrifice someone has to pay to follow God's plan for his/her life, so be it.
Many a times, we are trying to determine for God how we want him to order our lives. The fear of the unknown has made us to shut our ears against receiving daring instructions from him. As a reader of today's devotional, the area where God wants you to sacrifice your all may not be to abandon your job for full time ministry, God may just need you to devote or release something you hold dare to him.
To follow God, there is always something to forsake and something to pick-up, discover yours.
Father, I receive grace to forsake all that you've designed for me to forsake and to pick-up what you desire for me to pick-up In Jesus name. Amen
